B) Ingredients to make sarso da saag(mustard greens):-
- Mustard bhaji - 250 grams
- Spinach - 100 grams
- Bathua - 50 grams
- Ginger - 1 piece
- Garlic - 4 cloves
- Green chili - 2
- Onion - 2
- Maize flour - 1 tablespoon
- Butter - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 1 cup
- Garam Masala - 1/2 spoon
- Coriander Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - as per taste
C) Ingredients for making makki di roti(maize bread):-
- Maize flour - 500 grams
- Water (lukewarm) - 1 cup
- Salt - as per taste
- Cook with ghee or butter
D) Method of preparation of sarso ka saag(mustard greens):-To prepare sarso ka saag(mustard greens), first wash all the three greens thoroughly and chop them roughly. Now take a pressure cooker and add mustard seed, spinach, bathua. Also, add salt and water in it and cook on low flame for one or one and a half (1 1/2) hours. Now when the saag is cooked properly, squeeze out its water and keep it aside.Now you must mash sarso ka saag(mustard greens) in the cooker itself. (You can also use mixi to mash. This will save you time.) Now after mashing, add maize flour and mix well. Now pour the water separated from the greens back into it. Also add fresh water and cook it on low heat. Add green chili and ginger and cook the greens until they thicken.
E) Method of tempering sarso ka saag(mustard greens):-To prepare mustard dishes, you can add onion, ginger, garlic, red chilli, garam masala, coriander to deep fry, and then turn the onion into golden brown. Now after tempering, we have got it by putting mustard greens. Cut the ginger into a matchstick.
F) Method of preparation of makki di roti(maize bread):-Take a mixing bowl to make makki ki roti(maize bread). And knead maize flour in it with lukewarm water. After that put the tava on the gas and let it heat up. Now pour some ghee on it so that the roti does not stick to the pan.
Now roll the roti in round shape on the chakla. Do not make the size of maize bread too big because the bread of much bigger size is broken and broken. After rolling the roti, put the roti comfortably on the pan. Bake the ghee on the roti till it turns golden brown.
Now serve sarso ka saag(mustard greens) and makki di roti (maize bread) in a plate with butter and do not forget to give or take Punjabi's favorite lassi.
